I am new to the blogging world so please bear with me...
The premise of these posts are to help me heal the insanely deep wounds caused by sexual improprieties first forced upon me by my US Army Drill Instructor SSG Demetrius Busby during basic training. As I have reached out for help sometimes getting my hands slapped and others being fully embraced; I am learning that just this year the Veteran's Administration cited a formal study that Military Sexual Trauma (MST) is on the rise 11%! Just in reported cases alone and the vast majority are not. This phenomena crosses all branches of service and is even more prevalent during times of war. A man I reported to my company commander on March 19th 1990 fell on deaf ears and I was discharged while this perpetrator was permitted to roam uninterrupted as a predator for 24 years of decorated service, ultimately messed up and was having intercourse with a 14 year old J.R.O.T.C. Cadet of his in Sarasota, Florida. He had seven victims that have been identified according to his police record only two had the gumption to stand fast and press charges. SFC Busby was found guilty on three felony counts and is serving 12 years in a Florida state prison. I want justice not only for myself but for the others whom for whatever reason chose to stay silent.
